Kalyan Karmakar is a Mumbai based food and travel writer and the author of the blog Finely Chopped. He is a food and travel columnist for Femina and Burrp and is a contributor to the BBC Good Food Magazine India, Man’s World and Food and Nightlife magazines and has written for Times of India Crest and liveinstyle.com. He conducts the popular Finely Chopped Food Walks in Mumbai that bring alive the food cultures of various parts of the city. Kalyan’s blog, Finely Chopped, won in the best travel and food category of the Food Bloggers Association of India Awards 2014 and won the best food blog award in 2015. He has anchored a show on street food for the Travel Channel USA and was featured on The Foodie on Times Now and Will Travel for Food on NDTV 24X7. He has conducted cooking YouTube videos on the India Food Network. He was a judge for the 2013 International Chocolate Awards in London. He is lead critic for Mumbai in Eazydiner.com. Kalyan is a Bengali who was born in the UK, lived in Iran, grew up in Kolkata and moved to Mumbai 16 years ago. He is married to a Parsi who works in advertising.
